Volin

Client: Volin . Packaging Design, Editorial design

Volin is a french rock band and their music is best described as delicate, seductive and psychedelic. With influences panning from Portishead to Grizzly Bear, this quartet is touring the french stages with their poetic texts and feverish rock. For their third album they wanted a fresh new look and the abstract geometric photographs of Matthieu Venot caught their eye. Using the photography as a starting point I designed all the products: the digital artworks, the packaging for the vinyl and finally the digipack which included a 12 pages booklet. I based my colour palette on the pastel yellow and baby blue of the main photograph and played with bold typography and a deconstructed design approach in the layout. We also wanted to bring in some candid photography in the booklet which really speaks to the singularity of Volin.
